This kind of continuous whipstock is also called the wedgeless continuous whipstock. It uses a special mechanism to generate deflection force to achieve directional deflection. The deflecting cycle starts from drilling down to the point where the drill bit needs to be replaced due to wear or due to some abnormal conditions, the drill is required to be lifted for inspection. The whipstock is built with the same diameter, and a hole is formed at one time.

The body of the hole is smooth and curvilinear after the build-up, and there is no "dog-leg" sharp bend. Mechanical continuous whipstock consists of guide (stator) and whipstock (rotor). When working, the deflecting part rotates continuously, while the guiding part is positioned in a certain direction without angular displacement, so as to ensure that the deflecting part advances in the predetermined direction; on the other hand, it goes down along the drilling axis together with the deflecting part slip. When the deflecting part rotates, the torsional moment generated by friction tends to deflect the guiding part. If the solid clamping force of the support card is insufficient, the stator may be twisted and displaced.
